Carlsberg will build on its Indian associations by sponsoring the Asian festival, Celebrasian. "The festival presents an ideal opportunity for us to reinforce our links with Asian cuisine and the Asian community," said a Carlsberg spokesman.

Diageo is investing £1m to promote Smirnoff in Scotland. A campaign of entertainment and events around Smirnoff & The Electric Cabaret theme will run throughout April and May.
