Wine website axed
Sainsbury's is closing its dedicated wine website at the end of July. Although the site offered wines by the case, customers already ordered wine by the case from its grocery site, said the retailer.
Partnership rolls out
The Wine & Spirit Trade Association's Community Alcohol Partnership is being rolled out nationally after a trial in Cambridgeshire. The scheme led to a fall in anti-social behaviour and fewer under-18s found in possession of alcohol, WSTA said.
BRC Shop Price Index
Food prices have risen 7% in the past year, according to the BRC's Shop Price Index. The figure falls short of The Grocer findings, which put annual food inflation at 10%.
