The scheme gives users weekly discount coupons entitling them to up to 25% off selected products

Lidl has launched a loyalty scheme, offering subscribers regular discounts on shopping as well as Sky TV and cinema tickets.

The smartphone app-based scheme gives users weekly discount coupons, entitling them to up to 25% off selected products.

Special offers from partner services include up to 40% off Sky TV and broadband as well as cinema tickets, according to Lidl.

Users of the Lidl Plus app are also promised weekly digital scratch cards with prizes of up to £20 off their next shop.

Users will get scratch cards every time they make a purchase, with a one-in-five chance of winning a discount.

They will have one week to redeem the regular discount coupons.

Meanwhile a ‘Coupon Plus’ feature will award users extra discounts for spending more, so “the more they spend, the more they save”, Lidl said.

Spending £200 or more a month will entitle users to £10 off their next shop.

Shoppers can also store digital receipts on the app and browse weekly leaflets and seasonal magazines.

The app has been available to download at Google Play or the App Store since last month but the scheme went fully live today after testing, a Lidl spokeswoman said. It has also been offered in Ireland since July.

“Our customers know that we offer the best quality products at market leading prices,” said Lidl GB CEO Christian Härtnagel.

“We’ve designed Lidl Plus so we can provide an even better, tailored shopping experience for our customers, as well as to thank them for their loyalty.”
