Despite its 2017 Halloween ad provoking (ridiculous) complaints for showing a ‘possessed’ child (which the ASA wisely ignored), Asda remains by far the supermarket keenest on spooky season.

Its latest ad again focuses on children – though none of them have green, glowing eyes, so it should be safe from the pearl clutchers.

Instead we see a gang of monsters enjoying a Halloween party. In a simple-but-fun switcheroo, the ghouls are then terrified by a troupe of trick-or-treating kids, who show up with some natty costumes and fun accessories. Shortly afterwards, they have some yummy looking treats to go with it.

All available at Asda, of course – with goodies starting at an impressive 47p, the voiceover tells us. Surely it can’t fail – especially as the competition is so minimal.
