The Chase Vodka owner has been snapped up for an undisclosed sum

Chase Distillery has been bought by Diageo.

The Chase Vodka owner has been snapped up by the spirits giant for an undisclosed sum. The Grocer first revealed Chase had appointed advisors to find a buyer earlier this year.

Diageo GB MD Dayalan Nayager said Diageo was “thrilled to be bringing such a quintessentially British portfolio of high quality, crafted brands into our family”.

Chase has racked up solid distribution across the mults over past years – it is currently stocked in Tesco, Morrisons, Waitrose and Ocado.

“We are excited about the growth opportunity within the premium-plus segment and are very much looking forward to working with the Chase team to build on the portfolio’s considerably potential,” Nayager added.

The deal is expected to close early next year.

Chase founder William Chase said it was “inspiring to have Diageo invest in Chase Distillery’s future”.

“They believe in the potential of our field-to-bottle spirits and will build on our mission to develop our sustainable distillery in Herefordshire,” he said.
