Baxters Food Group appoints Maik Blumentritt as head of finance

Maik Blumentritt has secured the role of head of finance for Baxters Food Group’s European business, having been stranded in Scotland due to the coronavirus lockdown.

German accountant Blumentritt became caught up in the lockdown earlier this year while visiting family in Aberdeenshire. Unable to return to his home in Zurich, he began looking for opportunities that would fit his ambition to relocate to Scotland. He then contacted executive search company FWB Park Brown, which was working with Baxters.

He was subsequently hired following an online interview process and is now looking for a permanent home in the Moray and Aberdeenshire area.

“It’s a real privilege to take on this role which is not only fulfilling my ambition to live and work in Scotland but doing so with one of its most iconic family businesses,” he said.
