MRH has appointed Halfords Group chairman Dennis Millard to its board.

Millard will become chairman of the group, bringing over 12 years of retail experience to the role. He has worked in finance both in the UK and abroad for over 40 years.

He is currently Halfords Group chairman, as well as Pets at Home deputy chairman and senior independent non-executive director.

Millard has also previously worked as Connect Group chairman and Debenhams non executive director.

“We are delighted that Dennis has agreed to become chairman of the MRH group board. His significant retail experience will be invaluable as we develop and progress our business plan,” said MRH chief executive Karen Dickens.

“With our strategically located estate, we are well placed to capitalise on the growing trend for convenience and food to go, giving customers more reason to visit and shop with us. We look forward to benefiting from Dennis’ considerable expertise in this area.”

Millard added: “I am delighted to be joining MRH as chairman as it enters the next stage of its development and I look forward to working with Karen and rest of the senior management to deliver the strategy.”

MRH operates 491 petrol forecourts across the UK, serving about 2.5 million customers a week.
