Eric Heerema (left) is CEO again after Richard Carter’s departure

Nyetimber has parted ways with Richard Carter just five months after his appointment as CEO.

Carter joined the upscale English winemaker in July 2022 from Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, taking over from owner and sole shareholder Eric Heerema, who became chairman of the board.

At the time, Nyetimber hailed Carter’s understanding of luxury brand management and worldwide marketing, communication and management skills as key assets that would fuel expansion.

Heerema has now reverted to the CEO role in light of Carter’s exit at the end of 2022 to pursue other avenues. All references to the former Rolls-Royce executive have been removed from the Nyetimber website.

“Eric Heerema, on behalf of everyone at Nyetimber, continues to wish Richard all the best with his future endeavours,” said a spokesman for the winemaker.

”Following his commencement of the role, and further to discussions with Eric, Richard decided that, at this stage of his career, he wanted to take a more pluralist approach and develop a portfolio of business interests.”
