Asda and Morrisons have joined Bernard Matthews and Cranberry Foods in being shortlisted in at least three categories at the British Turkey Awards.

Usk Vale Poultry, Kelly Turkeys and a bronze free-range Morrisons entry are up for the title of best traditional Christmas turkey while Morrisons, Bernard Matthews and Asda will compete for the best convenience bird. A 'best meal solution' category has also been added this year.

New products entered include crispy turkey pies, stuffed turkey olives and smoked drumsticks.
