What was the first music single you bought? It was something by The Beatles - I can’t remember what.

What is the most rewarding part of your job? Getting letters and emails from customers who really appreciate the food we produce.

What is the least rewarding part? Having a stall at a food fair where there aren’t many visitors can be frustrating.

What is your motto in life? Do what you have to do today and don’t worry about tomorrow because the future will depend on what you’ve done today.

What’s your nickname? My family call me Ani, but also label me Ms Perfectionist on account of the fact that I’m a stickler for being thorough.

If you were allowed one dream perk what would it be? I’d love to have someone to do all the IT stuff for me. Technology is moving so fast.

What’s your favourite movie and why? Ryan’s Daughter is a lovely story. We later went on holiday to Ireland and visited Inch Beach, which featured in the film.

What has been the most embarrassing moment in your life? At a market in Dieppe, I asked a French-speaking neighbour to translate some signs for me, highlighting the fact that Anila’s products don’t contain additives and preservatives. It wasn’t until day three of the event that someone pointed out she’d written ‘sans préservatif’, which means ‘without condom’.

If you could pick a celebrity to join your staff who would it be? Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan. He would be a great ambassador.

If you could change one thing in grocery what would it be? I’d make it easier for small producers to be represented in their local supermarkets.

What luxury would you have on your desert island? A jar of Anila’s Hot Methi Sauce and my favourite pan. Then I could collect some vegetables and nuts and rustle up a tasty meal.

What animal best reflects your personality and why? Probably a bee, because I never stop, I love being busy and I enjoy creating something delicious.
