Aldi is to jump on the paleo snacking bandwagon with the launch of a cold-pressed, grain-free range under The Foodie Market brand.

The discounter has registered trademarks with the Intellectual Property Office for two flavours of Paleo Bar: Brazil Nut & Cherry, and Macadamia & Coconut.

Featuring the tagline ‘snacking like our forefathers’, they will be available in packs of five and “made with 5 all natural food ingredients”.

The paleo food movement, which originally began in the US, has seen growth in the UK with brands such as The Primal Pantry, which recently secured listings for its snack bars in Tesco and launched a protein variant in July.
