The Leaf Life’s sugar content per 100ml is 2g

Vegetarian and vegan specialist Bravura Foods has joined the cannabis craze, launching a brand of soft drinks.

The Leaf Life comes in three lightly sparkling variants – Laidback Lemonade, Relaxing Raspberry and Mindful Mango & Passionfruit (rsp: £1.85-£2.29/250ml) – each containing 15mg of full spectrum CBD (6mg per 100ml), meaning it includes hundreds of cannabinoids from the cannabis plant.

Free from artificial flavours and colours, The Leaf Life has no added sugar and provides 7kcals per 100ml. Sugar content per 100ml is 2g, making it “the lowest calorie, lowest sugar CBD drink on the market made without any artificial sweeteners” according to Bravura.

The range will be officially launched at the Lunch trade show in mid September, rolling out to major health food wholesalers including Tree of Life, The Health Store and CLF. Bravura was currently discussing listings “with various major high street and grocery retailers” it said.

The Leaf Life was “a fantastic-tasting product with a functional and beneficial twist” added Lisa Gawthorne, co-founder and director at Bravura, which owns Free From Fellows confectionery and hot beverage brand Peanut Hottie. It also distributes the likes of Little Miracles natural energy drinks, Panda liquorice and Vegan Bakery.

The company’s NPD follows a raft of CBD-infused food and drink launches this year, including Dead Man’s Fingers rum from Halewood Wines & Spirits, direct-to-consumer chocolate startup Good Soul, and snack bar brand Nooro.
