Dole Sunshine Company has unveiled a line of ambient fruit & cream dessert pots.
The vegan pots comprise a layer of plant-based ‘cream’, topped with fruit cubes.
Two flavours – Apple & Cinnamon and Peach & Vanilla – will roll into retailers in April 2023 in a four-pot pack (rsp: £2.49/4x123g).
According to Dole, shoppers were seeking “indulgent, healthier desserts”, but price was “a key factor for many”.
An increasing number of consumers were recognising that ambient products have a longer shelf life and therefore offered better value for money and less waste, it added.
Dole sales director Andrew Bradshaw said the launch marked “part of our transition from packaged foods to a nutrition and wellness brand”.
“As consumers continue to aspire to eat more healthily, while at the same time wanting indulgent treats, this new range should provide the perfect option, driving incremental sales to the ambient dessert category.
“It not only offers consumers something healthy and delicious that they can enjoy without guilt, but also at an affordable price which is so important right now.”
Dole is also set to launch a new fruit-based vitamin supplement brand The Secret Nature of Fruit in January.
