Fever Tree Citrus

The NPD demonstrates that Fever-Tree’s products were “made to pair with more than just gin”, said the brands international marketing director

Fever-Tree has partnered with Patrón Tequila on a new citrus-flavoured tonic water.

The mixer is made with Mexican limes, tangerines and bitter orange, and had been made especially to pair with the Mexican spirit brand, which was this year acquired by Bacardi in an eye-watering $5.1bn deal.

The NPD would demonstrate that Fever-Tree’s products were “made to pair with more than just gin”, said the brands international marketing director Richard Cuthbert.

“Simple, long mixed drinks are seeing a huge resurgence in popularity with both bartenders and consumers at home - and Fever-Tree, like Patrón Tequila, is incredibly versatile. Tequila and tonic is the new, refreshing, long Tequila serve.”

The tonic will see limited retail release to begin with, rolling exclusively into online retailer 31Dover.com in special gift packs with Patrón (rsp: £7.99-£59.99).

Meanwhile it will be seeded into the on-trade in posh establishments such as London’s Dandelyan, Quo Vadis and Sketch, as well as Hedonist in Leeds and The Edgbaston, Birmingham.
