Kerry Foods has expanded its BBQ-inspired premium brand Denny Fire & Smoke with the launch of a new range of on the go chicken snacks in 65g pots.
Fire & Smoke On the Go will be available to UK retailers from September following a successful summer launch in its native Ireland, and will be available in three flavours: Hellishly Hot Sweet Heat, Good Ol’ Smokin’ BBQ, and Mighty Fine Fire Grilled Chicken (rsp: £1.50).
Each pot contains fire-grilled chunks of 100% smoked chicken breast, “making them the perfect on the go or pick me up snack”, said senior brand manager Hilary Hughes, and was ideal as a “protein pick me up”.
The Fire & Smoke brand had experienced a “phenomenally successful first year on shelf”, she added, and had achieved sales in excess of £3m since launching last September, with its range of cooked meats becoming permanent fixtures in Tesco and Morrisons stores nationwide, in addition to Londis, Ocado and Amazon Fresh.
As a result, Kerry Foods felt “there was a great opportunity to leverage such a strong performance by offering retailers another fantastic way to grow sales in the fastest growing sector of the chilled meats category”, Hughes said.
Kerry Foods will also mark the brand’s first year on sale with the launch of a limited Fire Grilled Chipotle Ham Shavings cooked meat variant next month (rsp: £2.89/100g).
“We are committed to continuing to grow the Fire & Smoke range with attention grabbing new products that will drive category sales for retailers,” Hughes said.
