Kraft Heinz has expanded its range of savoury babyfood pouches and added a sweet Immunity Support range.

The savoury flavours – Sweet Potato, Green Beans & Sweetcorn and Chickpeas & Pumpkin – are billed as being made using a new cooking process Heinz said made them “taste more home-cooked”.

The new Immunity Support range, meanwhile, comprises three sweet flavours: Pear, Raspberry & Yoghurt; Blueberry, Coconut & Oat; and Strawberry & Yoghurt.

All three contain vitamin C, which contributed to the normal functioning of the immune system, said Heinz.

The sweet pouches were “perfect for both stage one and stage two of weaning”, it added, while the savoury flavours are intended for stages two and three.

They will roll out across grocery, discounters and convenience channels over the coming weeks (rsp: 99p-£1.79/70g-85g).

All pouches are made entirely of polypropylene, which can be disposed of in regular recycling collections.

Kraft Heinz category marketing manager Georgina Fotopoulou said shoppers’ needs had changed over past years.

While parents wanted to “actively support their baby’s immune system and development”, they were “also looking for more sustainable options”, she said.

Kraft Heinz first introduced recyclable pouches for its babyfood last summer, as part of a global commitment to make 100% of its packaging recyclable, reusable or compostable by 2025.
