Indian brand Patak’s has introduced its first range of frozen ready meals, which will be available exclusively at Tesco.
Rolling out to branches now in 425g packs (rsp: £2), the six-strong line-up – each of which can be heated in a microwave or regular oven – comprises Beef Madras, Chicken Korma, Chicken Vindaloo, Chicken Tikka Masala, King Prawn Balti and Vegetable Jalfrezi.
Every pack – made by the Authentic Food Company under licence from AB World Food – includes a portion of pilau rice in a separate compartment.
“Patak’s has pioneered curry in Britain for almost 60 years, and the new selection sets out to raise the bar in the ethnic frozen ready meal category,” said Chris Crosby, head of product development at AB World Foods.
“We’re bringing the same quality and depth of flavour to frozen curry that we’ve always offered with our curry sauces.”
