Pukka has unveiled a raft of chilled and frozen NPD, including a “first to market” pizza-pie hybrid.
Chilled Pepperoni Pizza Pie (rsp: £1.75/170g), a blend of “two of the nation’s best-loved foods”, will roll into Tesco on 14 November.
Two additional chilled products, Meat & Potato Pie and Pepperoni Pizza Slice, have already landed at Asda (rsp: £1.75-£1.99/170g-210g).
Pukka has also launched a range of frozen bakes and sausage rolls, which are now in Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Asda. The new lineup comprises Steak Bake, Chicken Bake, Sausage & Bean Bake, Vegan Smoky Cheddar Flavour & Onion Bake, Pork Sausage Roll and Vegan Sausage Roll (rsp: £2.50).
The innovation push formed “part of our ambitious plans to ramp up visibility of savoury pastry products across stores”, said Pukka MD Isaac Fisher. The chilled lines targeted “a multitude of different need states – from those wanting to eat handheld products on the go, to families looking for full-meal solutions”.
The frozen products, meanwhile, would “drive even more shoppers to the frozen aisle by offering a range which ticks the box when it comes to quality, affordability and full-on flavour”, he added.
