Saucy Fish Co owner Seachill looks poised to join the plant-based revolution after registering a trademark for The Saucy Vegan Co
The supplier has registered the name under the IPO’s classifications for meat, fish and poultry substitutes; sauces and foods consisting of fruit & veg. Seachill declined to comment.
It follows news, first reported by The Grocer last November, that The Saucy Fish Co brand was to embrace the flexitarian trend with a range of fish and veg products.
The range would capitalise on the “growing trend by meat reducers in switching to fish”, said sales and marketing director Amanda Webb at the time. It is expected to launch in spring.
