Both are billed as being low in saturated fat and high in protein, offering 22g and 25g per 100g rspectively

Squeaky Bean has added a duo of beef-style products to its lineup.

They are: Horseradish Beef Style Slices and Chargrilled Steak Style Strips, both of which are made from wheat and pea protein (rsp: £2.75-£3).

The former had “the texture of a lean beef-style slice, paired with a punchy horseradish crumb” said the brand, while the latter was “ideal as a snack straight from the pack or to stuff into a crusty baguette with crunchy veg in a Vietnamese bánh mì”, it added.

Both are billed as being low in saturated fat and high in protein, offering 22g and 25g per 100g rspectively.

The Horseradish Beef Style Slices will roll into Asda from 5 September and Sainsbury’s from 14 September. The Chargrilled Steak Style Strips will hit Asda on 5 September, followed by Tesco from 12 September and Sainsbury’s from 14 September.

The brand was “on a mission to ban boring and bring vegan deliciousness to consumers’ favourite meals by giving them easy switches”, said Caroline Jary, plant business unit director at Squeaky Bean owner The Compleat Food Group.

The brand has rapidly expanded its range over the past year, having benefited from a £5m investment into production in summer 2021.

Recent launches have included a duo of non-HFSS filled flatbreads and a range of ‘cured meat’ slices designed for sharing platters.
