collective cherry yoghurt

Dairy brand The Collective has launched a limited edition morello cherry and kirsch liqueur-flavoured yoghurt.

The brand said the special new year variety would provide a kick throughout the winter months, at breakfast, snack time or as a post-dinner treat.

Inspired by the Black Forest gateau, it combines the brand’s yoghurt with a double layer of liqueur-laced cherry conserve, producing “a deep, rich and distinctive sweet-sour flavour”, according to The Collective co-founder Amelia Harvey.

“At just 5% fat, it provides a unique offering, meeting demand for those looking for an innovative product and some measured indulgence in the new year,” she added.

The yoghurt is available from this week until March (rsp: £2.39/500g), with listings in Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Ocado, Whole Foods Market, Booths, Asda and Nisa.

The limited edition is the brand’s second alcoholic variety, following the launch of a raspberry and amaretto yoghurt in 2013. This year it has also launched a pink grapefruit and yuzu special edition and partnered with chef Anna Hansen to release a rhubarb, vanilla and lemongrass flavour.

“Releasing limited editions in this way allows us to keep innovation at the heart of our brand, providing exciting new varieties for consumers alongside the popular flavours in our core range,” said Harvey.
