Panettone isn’t just for Christmas. It’s for Easter, too. That was the message this week from Waitrose as it rolled out an own-label Panettone Easter Egg - a 600g egg-shaped ‘loaf’ with chocolate chips and sugar ‘confetti’ (£10). It was “a chocolatey twist on the classic recipe” said the supermarket.
