A new range of ready meals made from Welsh ingredients hits shelves this month following a tie-up between a regional grower and cheese producer.

The Really Welsh ready meals brand was created by Wales' biggest leek and cauliflower grower of the same name.

The first two chilled products, a cauliflower cheese and a leek & potato gratin, will be dual-branded with dairy producer Cadog. The lines are rolling out now into Spar throughout Wales and across southern England to Hastings. They will then arrive in Tesco's Welsh stores in mid-June.

"We're now looking at other meals to expand the range," said Really Welsh brand manager Rhiannon Williams. "Soups are one option or other traditional dishes with ingredients such as Welsh lamb."

It will be promoted in-store and through Really Welsh's sports marketing iniatives with Welsh cricket and rugby.

Really Welsh is working with manufacturer Beacon Foods to produce the range.
