Aldi is running a competition offering shoppers the chance to win a free five-minute trolley dash in their local store, to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust.
The ‘Supermarket Sweep’ competition has already raised over £60,000 in Scotland and Aldi has now brought the initiative to England and Wales.
The 10 winners will get a free run of the Aldi’s aisles, with the exception of alcohol and Specialbuys. They must use a single standard Aldi trolley and are limited to a maximum of two of the same item. All items must be “securely inside the trolley” at the end of run, according to the terms & conditions.
As well as letting winners keep everything in the trolley, Aldi will donate the equivalent value to Teenage Cancer Trust.
For chance to win, shoppers must email their details to aldisupermarketsweep@aldi.co.uk by 4 August.
“Our customers are always incredibly supportive of the causes we champion, and we’re pleased to be bringing this much-loved fundraising initiative to England and Wales for the first time,” said Aldi UK chief commercial officer Julie Ashfield.
“We can’t wait to give shoppers the opportunity to put their trolley-dashing skills to the test, while helping to raise vital funds for Teenage Cancer Trust. Every pound raised will help the charity continue providing specialist care and support to young people with cancer when they need it most.”
Aldi has partnered with Teenage Cancer Trust since 2017 and has so far raised more than £13m for the charity with the help of customers and staff. It aims to reach £20m by 2031.
