ABP Food Group has announced Kevin Cahill as its new CEO of its UK division.

Cahill is currently managing director of the business’ Ireland and Poland operations, but will take on the UK CEO position from the beginning of April.

Current CEO Bob Carnell will depart from the role at the end of March but will remain in an advisory position to ensure a smooth transition, the business said.

Cahill joined ABP in 2021 with over two decades of experience in the food industry, including at OSI Group’s European division and at Kepak in the UK & Ireland.

“We are delighted to see Kevin transfer to the UK division as CEO,” said ABP group CEO Frank Stephenson. “Following an extensive search, we are confident that Kevin has the knowledge and experience of the sector along with the proven leadership skills that are right for the business.”

Stephenson added that Cahill would “take the division into its next chapter of trading in the evolving consumer environment”.

He also expressed his thanks to Carnell for his “outstanding leadership” over the past six-and-a-half years.

“I am delighted to be joining the UK business,” said Cahill. “I look forward to working with the team, customers and suppliers to face the challenges and realise opportunities in a market and sector that I feel very passionate about.”
