Spar wholesaler AF Blakemore has extended its partnership with Snappy Shopper to 70 more stores.
The rollout takes its online estate to 167 stores, all of which are company-owned.
It runs 317 Spar stores overall, and supplies over 750 independents across the Midlands, south east, south west and Wales.
Around 40 of the new stores are located in areas where Snappy Shopper does not currently have another retail partner, bringing the service to new communities and expanding the platform’s geographic reach.
It will allow customers in participating areas to order groceries, everyday essentials, snacks, drinks and household products from their local Spar through AF Blakemore’s Spar Delivered service, which it launched in July 2025, powered by Snappy Shopper technology. AF Blakemore originally partnered with Snappy Shopper in 2020.
The expansion builds on its existing demand across the wholesaler’s Spar estate, with more than 95,000 orders generated in the 12 months to 31 July, with an average order value of £30.30. New customer acquisition also increased by 20% year on year, the business added.
Greg Deacon, VP retail groups at Snappy Shopper, said: “This is a significant expansion of our partnership with AF Blakemore and a great opportunity to bring rapid delivery to even more Spar customers,” said Snappy Shopper VP for retail groups Greg Deacon.
“Adding around 70 stores considerably increases the scale of the existing partnership, while also taking Snappy Shopper into around 40 areas where we do not currently have a retail partner. That means more communities will be able to access convenient, rapid delivery from their local Spar.
“We’re looking forward to supporting AF Blakemore throughout the rollout and continuing to grow the partnership together.”
AF Blakemore chief commercial officer CJ Antal-Smith added: “Our focus is on making shopping with Spar as convenient and accessible as possible for the communities we serve.
“Expanding Spar Delivered across more of our estate gives more customers the choice to shop with their local Spar online, while enabling more of our stores to benefit from the continued growth of rapid grocery delivery.
“We’re pleased to be building on our partnership with Snappy Shopper through this latest expansion.”
