Customers can return the product to their nearest store for a refund

Aldi has recalled one of its Christmas chocolate products as it may contain peanuts.

In a point-of-sale notice, Aldi stated its supplier was recalling Dairyfine Salted Caramel Filled Gonks 90g packs as a “precautionary measure”.

All best before dates with the barcode 4061463276865 are affected.

Aldi has asked customers to return the product to their nearest store for a full refund. It has also been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, according to the FSA.

“We apologise that this product did not meet our normal high standards and thank you for your cooperation,” said the discounter.

It advised shoppers to visit help.aldi.co.uk or call customer services on 0800 042 0800 for further information.

Dimark Limited last week recalled two batch codes of Veira Dream of Angel Hair Pistachio Chocolate 165g as they contained undeclared peanuts and sesame.

It came after three Dubai-style chocolate bars and one pistachio cream were recalled for containing undeclared allergens this summer.

Aldi isn’t the first retailer to recall one of its Christmas lines over food safety concerns.

In 2023, Tesco recalled a batch of private-label stuffing mix over fears it may contain moths.

The retailer issued a recall notice to its customers regarding packs of its Finest Apple & Cranberry Stuffing Mix 130g with the best before date of September 2024.
