An ‘angel hair’ chocolate bar has been recalled as it contains undeclared peanuts and sesame.
The product in question is Veira Dream of Angel Hair Pistachio Chocolate 165g, distributed by Dimark Limited.
The recall includes batch codes 05052025 and 07042025 with best before dates of 5 May 2026 and 7 April 2026.
Dimark has issued a point-of-sale notice, urging shoppers with a peanut or sesame allergy not to consume the product. Instead, they should return it to where they bought it for a refund.
For more information, shoppers can contact Dimark via telephone on 02088879696 or email at info@dimarkltd.co.uk.
The Food Standards Agency said it had advised Dimark to contact the relevant allergy support organisations.
‘Angel hair’ chocolate – which contains a Turkish candy floss-style dessert known as pişmaniye – was the next confectionery viral trend to take TikTok by storm, following the Dubai-style chocolate craze.
Unsafe imports
However, the FSA raised concerns in June that an influx in imports of trending Dubai-style bars could put individuals with food allergies at risk, as some were not intended for sale in the UK, and could therefore lack a full ingredients list or allergen labelling.
Subsequently, three Dubai-style chocolate bars and one pistachio cream were recalled for containing undeclared allergens this summer.
The FSA urged consumers and food businesses who had purchased Noesis, Fix It and counterfeit Le Damas branded Dubai-style chocolate products to take action to avoid risk to health.
This is because the chocolate bars contained peanuts and other types of nuts (such as almonds, cashews and walnuts), which were not mentioned on labels, making them a possible health risk to those with a nut allergy.
Meanwhile, Denar recalled Destan Pistazien Crème Dubai Style 200g in July because it contained undeclared milk.
