Annabel Karmel new plant-powered bites for kids

Kids’ food brand Annabel Karmel has added two plant-based products to its frozen lineup.

The move strengthens the brand’s presence in frozen as retailers continue to back products that deliver on healthconvenience and repeat family purchase, it said.

Meat-Free Mini Burgers and Meat-Free Chicken-Style Nuggets have launched in 200 Asda stores (rsp: £2.95/220g). The HFSS-compliant products are made with pea, lentil and wheat protein, and are a source of iron, calcium, vitamin D and B12, with no artificial colours or preservatives.

They cook from frozen in five minutes, offering a quick midweek or snacking option for busy families, the brand said.

The launch marks an expansion beyond Annabel Karmel’s core ready meals and is designed to “inject more relevance and excitement to the kids’ frozen fixture”, while helping parents introduce more plant-based options.

“Plant-based is evolving and parents are looking for products that deliver real nutrition and make mealtimes easier. There is a clear gap for child-focused innovation in this space, and our Plant-Powered Bites answer that demand,” said founder Annabel Karmel.

“We’ve innovated products that combine flavour, nutrition and convenience in formats children already know and love – helping parents get more vegetables onto the plate.”
