Asda claims ParcelShops will make it more convenient for its shoppers to pick up both groceries and deliveries at the same time

Asda is to roll out ParcelShops to all 1,200 of its stores, in an expansion of its partnership with postal giant Evri “just in time for Christmas”.

ParcelShops, which will enable customers to pick up and drop off parcels for delivery via Evri’s network, has been trialled in 300 Asda locations over recent months. It will now roll out to all its supermarkets, superstores and Express convenience stores by April next year.

In contrast to Evri’s network of outside parcel lockers, ParcelShop machines are installed inside the store at Asda’s customer service counters. Shoppers can print their own delivery labels, and hand the parcel to Asda colleagues for delivery via Evri couriers.

It would enable shoppers to pick up their parcels alongside their groceries in one “convenient” trip to their local Asda store, the supermarket said.

“One of the things that sets Asda apart is our unmatchable mix of services, so we’re delighted to be partnering with Evri to be able to launch a brand-new one, just in time for the festive season,” said Chris Hall, Asda VP for logistics.

“We know how much our customers value convenience, and this service gives them the flexibility to collect or return an Evri parcel, whether they’re popping in for a pint of milk in one of our Express stores or doing their big shop in one of our larger stores.”

The expansion of the ParcelShop service comes as part of a £50m investment by the delivery giant in June 2025 to double its network of locations to 25,000 by 2030.

“This landmark agreement with fellow Leeds-based Asda strengthens our commitment to creating a delivery network fit for the modern UK shopper, directly giving them choice, convenience and control,” said Evri CEO Martijn de Lange.

“We are excited about the opportunities this new partnership will bring, helping us to further drive our ambition to expand our capabilities and deliver an even more comprehensive, cost-effective, and customer-focused service across the UK and beyond.”
