The frozen ready meal range is in Asda, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s

Birds Eye is hoping to lure Gen Z shoppers down the frozen aisle, with a quartet of high-protein ready meals inspired by world cuisines.

Get Real has debuted with Mexican Chicken Burrito Bowl, Red Thai Chicken Curry, Indian Chicken Curry and Moroccan Chicken Rice Bowl, which are microwave-ready in seven minutes.

The sauces for all four meals (rsp: £3.75/350g) are made with chickpeas, to “increase the overall protein profile of each meal”.

As such, each frozen meal delivers an average 34g protein, along with 8g-11g fibre and at least two of the recommended five portions of veg per day, with no artificial additives or preservatives.

They have rolled into Asda, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s and will hit additional retailers in 2026.

“Our new Get Real products are a great example of this, being high-quality, nutritious meals in an easy-to-cook format making it practical and beneficial for health-conscious consumers.”

It comes after Birds Eye expanded its Chicken Shop range with five products earlier this month.

Including the likes of Spicy Korean Tenders and Texas BBQ Chicken Fries, the additions capitalised on “key flavour trends”, said the brand.
