The new meals are non-HFSS and provide at least one of the recommended 5 a day

Birds Eye has expanded its Steamfresh range with a quartet of rice and noodle dishes.

Korean Style Noodles, Malaysian Laksa Style Noodles (rsp: £3.50/350g), Asian Rice and Mexican Rice (rsp: £2.75/380g) are non-HFSS and each provide at least one of the recommended 5 a day.

Korean Style Noodles and Asian Rice will hit Tesco on 9 March, ahead of a wider rollout of the entire range.

They were designed to bring “bolder flavours and nutritious options” to the frozen aisle, said Birds Eye.

Value sales of Steamfresh, which includes main and side dishes, grew by 10.7% in the year to 24 January 2026, added Birds Eye, citing NIQ data.

“Frozen is undergoing a real step change, with shoppers wanting food that is healthy, great tasting and genuinely convenient,” said Birds Eye marketing director Claire Sutton.

“These new products strengthen our offer by pairing global flavours with steamed vegetables and perfectly cooked rice or noodles to help deliver meals that are nutritious, delicious and ready in minutes,” Sutton added.

Birds Eye last month unveiled a duo of chicken wing SKUs, Buffalo Hot and Honey Chipotle, made in partnership with Sauce Shop.

Also in February, it unveiled its three-strong premium marinaded chicken range, Editions, targeted at shoppers aged 34 to 55.
