Booker has appointed Stuart Hyslop as its chief operations officer with immediate effect.
Hyslop is taking over from Jonny McQuarrie, who left the business in June and is now CEO of Tesco central Europe.
As an existing member of the wholesale giant’s executive team, Hyslop moves from his previous position as catering managing director, a role he has held for 12 years.
Hyslop has been with Booker since 1993, working across various of leadership roles within operations and catering sales.
Leigh Baker, Booker’s catering sales director, will step in to lead the catering team on an interim basis.
“With over 30 years of operational and customer experience within the Booker Group, Stuart’s leadership will help position us to drive our long-term strategic ambitions and consistently deliver the exceptional service our customers expect,” said Booker Group CEO Andrew Yaxley.
Also new to Booker’s executive team is Richard Lamb, who joined in May in the newly created role of technology director. He was hired to oversee Booker’s online and digital offer for customers alongside the technology team.
He moved from Tesco Group, where he most recently held the role of chief information officer and online director for Tesco Europe
Yaxley added: “Richard joins the business at a key time, as we work to improve our digital offer and overall online experience for customers.”
