Foodservice wholesaler Brakes is to launch a new range of bubble waffles to tap the growing social media trend.
Bubble waffles, which originated in Asia, are traditionally served sweet with ice cream, fruit or sauces. They can also be served with savoury toppings such as chicken, cheese and bacon.
Bubble waffles have continued to rise in popularity on social media over recent years. There are currently 138.2 million videos related to the term ’bubble waffle’ on TikTok.
The new Sysco Classic Bubble Waffles will now be available to the foodservice sector, without the need for any specialist equipment, according to Brakes.
“Bubble waffles are the latest must-have for menus, but, until now, chefs have needed specialist equipment to make them,” said Sysco GB CEO Paul Nieduszynski.
