Two Scoops has launched via BrewDog’s webstore and will soon hit the mults

Aberdeenshire brands BrewDog and Mackie’s have teamed up to launch a limited-edition Honeycomb Stout.

Developed by BrewDog’s brewing team, Two Scoops (7% abv) is a “rich, smooth” stout inspired by Mackie’s’ Honeycomb ice cream.

Alongside honeycomb, it boasts notes of “caramel, chocolate, toffee and burnt sugar”, according to Mackie’s

The beer (rsp: £3.75/440ml) has already launched via BrewDog’s webstore and will roll into the traditional big four over the coming weeks.

The collaboration stemmed from a long-standing link between the Mackie’s and BrewDog founders, who connected over their shared interests in renewable energy and sustainability, according to the ice cream brand.

“Collaborating with another Aberdeenshire business of BrewDog’s scale and creativity has been hugely rewarding,” said Mackie’s MD Stuart Common.

“Two Scoops brings together our shared values of innovation and quality, while also shining a spotlight on the talent that exists right here in the north-east of Scotland.”

James Kemp, director of global brewing at BrewDog, added: “We wanted to create a beer that feels indulgent but still distinctly BrewDog, and honeycomb provided the perfect inspiration.

“The result is a stout that offers something new for both craft beer lovers and Mackie’s fans alike – it’s a real celebration of Aberdeenshire’s food and drink strengths.”

This isn’t the first time BrewDog has teamed up with another supplier to launch a co-branded beer.

In 2021, it partnered with Tony’s Chocolonely to launch a 4.2% abv white chocolate & raspberry milkshake IPA. BrewDog then collaborated with Candy Kittens on Raspberry & Guava New England IPA (6% abv) in 2022, followed by Eton Mess New England IPA (6% abv) in 2023.
