The recall includes Calbee’s Hot & Spicy Chips and Pizza Chips

Calbee Group UK has recalled two of its crisps variants, which contain undeclared allergens.

The affected products are Calbee Hot & Spicy Chips, which contains mustard, and Calbee Pizza Chips, which contains celery – neither of which are mentioned on the labels. As such, they are a potential health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard or celery.

The recall includes all 55g and 105g packs of Hot & Spicy Chips with best before dates up to and including 5 June 2026, and 55g packs of Pizza Chips with best before dates up to and including 28 April 2026. They are listed in Tesco, Lidl and Ocado.

In a point of sale notice, Calbee has urged shoppers who may be affected to dispose of the product and contact its customer care team on 0330 660 0015 or consumercare@calbee.co.uk. Alternatively, they can return it to the store from which they purchased it for a full refund.

“We take the integrity of our products very seriously and although the risk to consumers is relatively low, we are taking the precaution of recalling the above products and alerting our customers and the relevant allergy support organisations,” Calbee stated.

Jon Wood, group MD of Calbee UK, said: “We are working with affected customers, the FSA and relevant allergy support organisations and have initiated corrective actions to ensure all future production and remaining stock in the supply chain is labelled correctly.

“No other Calbee products are affected by this recall.”
