
Carnation has jumped on the pistachio boom, expanding its lineup of Drizzle dessert sauces with a variant inspired by the trending nut.
Billed as a “premium dessert sauce”, Pistachio Flavour Drizzle combines Carnation’s “smooth, creamy condensed milk” sauce with “rich, roasted pistachio flavour” .
The NPD (rsp: £3.19/450g) does not contain pistachios; milk is the only allergen listed on the back of pack.
Listed in B&M, Home Bargains and Amazon, it joins Carnation’s lineup of Original, Caramel and Chocolate Drizzle sauces.
“We’re delighted that our popular Carnation Drizzle range is expanding to cater for pistachio lovers in the UK,” said Danielle McAreavey, head of marketing at Carnation UK & Ireland.
The NPD is just the latest in a stream of pistachio-flavoured fmcg products to have hit shelves over recent weeks.
The Coconut Collab last month expanded its “permissible” dessert pot range with Pistachio Pots, listed in Morrisons and Ocado.
Rude Health this week unveiled a Pistachio Barista drink, made from pistachios, oats and a pinch of salt. It will hit Waitrose on 12 October (rsp: £3.95/one litre).
M&S recently installed “nuts about pistachio” free-standing display units in stores, merchandised with its Pistachio & Shortbread Crunchy Clouds, Choc Marks Blonde Chocolate & Pistachio bar, Pistachio & Caramel bar, Collection Pistachio Crème and The Big Daddy Pistachio chocolate bar.
Over the summer, Tesco listed Ombar’s Pistachio Centres bar, while Waitrose listed Ombar’s Pistachio Cream treat.
