Casillero del Diablo has expanded into cans for the first time.
The Chilean winemaker has launched its most popular red and white wines in 187ml cans.
Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva and Sauvignon Blanc Reserva are now available in 1,000 Tesco Express stores nationwide (rsp: £2.90).
“It’s fantastic to welcome the range of new formats and products to suit changing consumer needs,” said Claire Raine, brands controller at Casillero del Diablo owner Concha y Toro. “We have seen what an impact cans have already had in the wine category, and for a well-known brand like Casillero del Diablo to supply our quality red and white wines in this format will help grow the category even further.”
Casillero del Diablo has also introduced BeLight Red, an 8% abv red blend from cabernet sauvignon, carmenere and syrah grapes. It follows the successful launch of BeLight Sauvignon Blanc and BeLight Rosé in the UK in July 2024, and an alcohol-free sparkling Casillero del Diablo Zero last December.
“The BeLight range continues to get fantastic reviews from people wanting to enjoy a great glass of wine but with fewer calories,” said Raine. “The team in Chile took as much care producing a quality red wine as they had done with the BeLight Sauvignon Blanc and Rosé two years ago.”
BeLight Red has landed in Sainsbury’s stores (rsp: £7/75cl).
