Independent foodservice wholesaler Holdsworth Foods has joined Caterforce, bringing the buying group’s total turnover to over £1bn.
The family-run business, which will join Caterforce on 1 March, was founded in 1969 and supplies a wide range of chilled, ambient and frozen goods to thousands of caterers across the UK.
With headquarters in Derbyshire and nine depots across the UK, Holdsworth Foods would “further strengthen Caterforce’s national coverage”, the buying group said.
“It gives me great pleasure to welcome Rupert Holdsworth and his team to the Caterforce group,” said Caterforce MD Gary Mullineux. “As a family-run wholesaler that prides itself on delivering truly exceptional service levels, Holdsworth’s decades of experience make them a perfect fit for Caterforce.
“We pride ourselves on our group’s collaborative approach, and we look forward to working closely with the Holdsworth team.”
Holdsworth Foods MD Rupert Holdsworth added: “We are thrilled to be joining Caterforce. The group stood out as a foodservice specialist buying group that genuinely represents independent family-run businesses such as ours.
“The values of the group, and its impressive members, align perfectly with our own, making them the perfect partner to support us to reach our ambitious goals for the future.”
