Dishes including Duck Confit & Pommes Anna are in Waitrose

Posh ready meal maker Charlie Bigham’s has unveiled its “most indulgent collection yet”.

Brasserie has debuted in selected Waitrose stores with Venison Bourguignon, Coq au Vin, Duck Confit & Pommes Anna (all rsps: £16.95), Salmon Wellington (rsp: £19.95) and Beef Wellington (rsp: £29.95).

Created to “bring dining out, in,” the Brasserie range captured “the essence of restaurant dining, with elevated dishes designed to be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home”, said Charlie Bigham’s.

Each dish had been “expertly crafted by hand using restaurant-level techniques” at the brand’s London kitchen, it added.

Charlie Bigham’s last month commissioned a survey of 2,000 Brits, which found that 48% would rather stay in than go out [Perspectus Global].

“Showstopping food doesn’t always have to mean going out,” said founder Charlie Bigham.

“With the Brasserie range, you can have that same restaurant-quality experience at home – the kind of treat-worthy food you’ll want to take your time over and really enjoy together.”

Waitrose head of trading for meal solutions Miriam Tellis said: “Almost 30 years ago, Waitrose was the first supermarket to stock Charlie Bigham’s meals.

“Since then, they have become firm favourites with our customers and we’re incredibly excited to exclusively launch the new Charlie Bigham’s ‘Brasserie’ range… We’re excited for our customers to try it.”
