Scottish Spar wholesaler CJ Lang has launched a new home delivery service called Spar Dash.
The platform is powered by Snappy Shopper’s white label e-commerce platform and order aggregation technology.
It aimed to bring a “seamless shopping experience” for customers, allowing them to order fresh food, household products, meal solutions, hot food and drinks, and everyday essentials for rapid local delivery, CJ Lang said.
Spar Dash has been designed to strengthen its store network by helping it to reach more customers, increase online sales and meet growing demand for convenience shopping at home, the wholesaler added.
CJ Lang distributes to 300 Spar stores across Scotland. Spar Dash will be rolled out across participating stores, with more locations joining the platform over the coming months.
The wholesaler already offers home delivery through Snappy Shopper. It said it would continue to provide both services to online shoppers to give them “as much choice as possible”.
“Spar Dash represents an exciting new chapter for Spar Scotland,” said CJ Lang CEO Colin McLean. “Our customers increasingly expect convenience that fits around their busy lifestyles, and this platform allows us to deliver exactly that while continuing to support our local communities through our company-owned stores and our independent retailers.
“Whether it’s a weekly grocery top-up, a forgotten ingredient, or a freshly prepared hot meal and coffee, Spar Dash gives customers another convenient way to shop with their local Spar store.”
Greg Deacon, Snappy Media VP for groups and business development, added: “We’re delighted to power Spar Dash and support Spar Scotland in expanding its digital convenience offering. Our technology has been built specifically for convenience retail, enabling stores to provide exceptional home delivery experiences while driving growth for independent retailers.
“Together, we’re making it even easier for customers across Scotland to access the products they need, including freshly prepared food and drinks, whenever they need them.”
