The range is expected to be rolled out by the week commencing 16 February

Co-op is introducing a range of branded halal products to more than 110 stores across the UK to better serve its Muslim members and customers.

It means the convenience retailer will provide shoppers with a full permanent range of halal brands for the first time, including Shazans, Humza, and Zinda, spanning fresh meat, ready meals, frozen, desserts and food to go.

The range is expected to be rolled out by the week commencing 16 February. Halal products will also be introduced to Co-op’s lunchtime meal deal.

“The launch of the branded halal range in our selected convenience stores is a major step in our journey to expand Co-op’s world food offering,” said Co-op senior category manager Kelly Orme.

“Catering to the varied dietary requirements of our members and shoppers is really important and means we can meet the needs of the many diverse communities we serve across the country, so everyone can feel welcomed and valued.

“Importantly, we’ve listened to our Muslim colleagues and customers to develop the new convenient halal range and we’re confident the offering truly supports cultural and community needs.”

Co-op is also set to offer a more extensive range of branded Ramadan products to support communities celebrating throughout the UK, with brands such as Heera, Natco, Laila, KTC, Cofresh, Regal Bakery, Nayla and Zaytoun joining the range.

The number of Ramadan products available in Co-op stores has grown by 241% since last year.

“Our Ramadan offering for 2026 further supports our commitment to ensure our members’ and shoppers’ needs are met during this important time of year,” said Orme.

“The range includes gifting products, snacks, treats and everyday essentials that our Muslim members and shoppers would expect to see in stores. We are the experts in convenience and we’re looking forward to serving our Muslim shoppers throughout Ramadan, wherever and whenever they may need us.”
