Comag has welcomed a batch of launches for the early part of this year as a sign of publisher confidence in the magazine market. The distributor will be involved in nine of the newcomers which should appear in the next couple of months. Comag's publishing services director, Lynn Doughty says: "It is wonderful to see our publishers' confidence in the market after the trauma of last year's supply chain issues. We are thrilled to be associated with these great new products in particular, because there is every chance they will grow sales rather than just steal share." New magazines will include In Style, a monthly glossy for fashion, beauty lifestyle, and celebrity news, from Time Life. It will be priced at £2.70 and goes on sale on February 16. The launch will be supported by retail promotions. The Teddy Bear Collection, a fortnightly partwork from Eaglemoss, will launch on February 21, supported by a £1.2m national television advertising campaign starting on February 20. Part 1 will be priced £1.99, Part 2 £3.50 and Part 3 onwards at £4.50. Parts one to seven will be on full SoR, and each will feature a covermounted bear. F1 Magazine from European Press, priced £3.45 and endorsed by Formula 1 racing's Bernie Ecclestone, will hit the news-stands on February 28. The UK edition of Glamour, the American success story from Condé Nast which has a circulation of 22 million in the US, will launch in the UK on March 8. Published monthly, Glamour will be priced £2 with an editorial focus on mid-market fashion, beauty and features with a strong commitment to celebrity coverage. The magazine is targeted at young women and will be supported by a £5m promotional budget in its first year. Details of further launches to be handled by Comag will be released later. {{CTN }}
