Compleat Foodservice has invested £600,000 in a new cookie production line as it seeks to meet rising demand for premium sweet treats.
The investment comes amid growing demand across retail and foodservice for more “premium, indulgent and visually impactful cookies”, according to Compleat.
The business said demand for its premium cookies had increased and it was forecasting value growth of almost 30% by March 2027.
Located at its Crewe site, the new line will enable the business to expand its premium cookie offering while increasing overall output by more than 30%.
Specifically designed to manufacture higher-specification products, the line can produce larger-format and filled cookies, as well as recipes featuring a wider variety of inclusions, including large chocolate chunks and confectionery pieces.
It will also provide greater flexibility across formats, sizes and recipes, allowing Compleat to develop bespoke products for customers at speed and scale.
“Our customers are looking for support to bring these higher-quality products to market, and this investment allows us to do exactly that, enhancing both our capability and capacity to produce cookies that deliver on exceptional taste, texture and appearance,” said Helen Bowyer, commercial director at Compleat Foodservice.
Bowyer added: “It complements our existing offering, enabling us to support customers across a broad range of formats and quality tiers, while continuing to evolve in line with consumer trends and supporting our wider growth strategy in sweet bakery.”
