Cosmopolitan Bride hits the newsstands on September 6.
The bi-monthly publication will use the branding of parent title Cosmopolitan in a similar way to Cosmopolitan Hair & Beauty, with the aim of making the most of the established glossy's heritage.
James Buchanan, md of publisher NatMag Specialist Media (AIM), a division of The National Magazine Company, said: "The Cosmopolitan brand will give the title instant acceptance."
The title will have a cover price of £3.95 and will be aimed at women aged mid to late 20s many of them Cosmopolitan readers.
Editor Catherine Westwood explained: "The approach will be similar to Cosmopolitan a modern outlook, glamorous, sexy, glossy. It will be distinct from other bridal titles in that it will have a celebrity element looking at celebrity weddings with advice on how to achieve the look etc."
NatMag's Specialist Media also publishes the top newsstand bridal title You and Your Wedding and hopes brides-to-be will buy both titles, published on alternate months.
Cosmo Bride will be advertised in Cosmopolitan and You and Your Wedding. The first issue will carry a covermounted bridal hair booklet. Distribution is by Comag.
l Cosmopolitan's year-on-year sales fell 2% to 367,506 in the ABC audit for January to June 2001 (news stand only). The 16% reported in last week's CTN referred just to Cosmo Hair.
