The Covent Garden Market Authority has appointed Robert McAuliffe as general manager.
With more than 20 years of experience in property operations, sustainability and strategic transformation, McAuliffe will handle the operation and management of New Covent Garden Market in Nine Elms.
McAuliffe has joined the organisation after a five-year stint as head of interface management at The Arch Company, where he led operation programmes across a portfolio of over 5,000 properties and chaired the senior leadership team.
“We are delighted to welcome Rob,” said Wanda Goldwag, chair of the CGMA. “His extensive experience in property operations, sustainability and stakeholder engagement will be invaluable as we complete the redevelopment of New Covent Garden Market.
“Robert joins at a pivotal time, as we work to enhance the market’s role at the heart of London’s food system, ensuring it remains a safe, efficient and world-class trading environment.”
McAuliffe said the market was one of London’s most important property assets and a cornerstone of its food supply network.
“I’m looking forward to working with the team, our tenants and our partners to ensure the market remains a vibrant, safe and sustainable place to trade for generations to come,” he said.
