Cranswick has unveiled a six-strong protein-rich chilled snack range for on-the-go eaters under its premium Bodega Mediterranean snack brand.
Available through Sainsbury’s, the continental-inspired lineup features Chorizo Coins, Chorizo & Cheddar, German Salami & Cheddar, Peppered Saucisson Sec, Parmesan Saucisson Sec and Snack Fuet flavours (rsp: £2.50-£2.75/60g-90g).
The snack pots each contain up to 26g of protein and are said to be geared towards customers who are short on time or low on inspiration.
“Our new range is packed full of authentic flavours from across the continent and includes French pepper coated saucisson sec salami bites, from Spain fuet salami sticks and from Germany a snacking duo of smoky salami and cheese,” said Dorota Lawrence, category marketing manager at Bodega.
“They are a great-tasting, satisfying snack, or are equally convenient to have in the fridge to graze on when you just need a quick bite.”
The NPD comes after Cranswick this week revealed it was accelerating investment in boosting factory capacity as demand for its meat continues to grow.
The pig and poultry processor saw group revenue rise 9.7% in the 13 weeks to 28 June, largely driven by strong volume growth.
In May, Cranswick acquired Blakemans, a leading manufacturer of sausages in the foodservice industry, for £32m.
