Dishpatch 1

Deliveroo has announced an exclusive partnership with fine dining meal kit brand Dishpatch.

Deliveroo users will be able to select from 13 meal kits designed by top chefs including Angela Hartnett, Rick Stein, Sabrina Ghayour and Atul Kochhar, as well as a line of desserts.

The partnership marks the first time Waitrose-owned Dishpatch is available for on-demand delivery.

Dishpatch kits previously had to be pre-ordered, with home delivery on Fridays and Saturdays. The partnership extends availability to include Thursdays and Sundays, and without the need to order.

Availability is currently limited to Greenwich and Wandsworth, with orders dispatched from Deliveroo’s Wandsworth Edition dark kitchen site, with a delivery time of around 45 minutes.

“Many Brits love cooking but don’t always feel confident tackling complex recipes from scratch. Our partnership with Dishpatch solves that challenge perfectly, giving people everything they need to create incredible meals at home, delivered in just 20 minutes,” said Suzy McClintock, VP of new verticals at Deliveroo.

“It makes premium dining accessible and enjoyable for everyone, with the speed and convenience that our customers know and love us for,” she added.

Deliveroo says it has seen “growing demand for premium home dining”, with a 90% year-on-year increase in grocery orders in September from its “top premium grocers”.

The aggregator app has also seen a 35% rise in searches for ready meals and meals over the past year on its platform, which it said “speaks to the growing trend of time-constrained diners increasingly seeking high-end, convenient meal solutions”.

Nick Larkins, CEO of Dishpatch, said the partnership would introduce “the Dishpatch product to a new audience, with a particular focus on growing our London customer base”.

“It also gives us the opportunity to understand how customers respond to more spontaneous, last-minute meal planning when it comes to meal kits,” he added.

Deliveroo customers will be entitled to a 20% discount on Dishpatch products available on the app until 23 November.

Dishpatch launched in 2020 and was acquired by Waitrose in June last year for an undisclosed sum.

“While our immediate focus will be helping Dishpatch grow its core meal kit business, we are also looking forward to working with the team to bring further new and exciting food experiences to Waitrose customers,” Waitrose executive director James Bailey said at the time.
