A brand claiming to have created the first chilled, ready-to-eat soup in a can has launched in the UK.
Called Dozz, it promises to bring “convenient, ready-to-drink soup to busy, health-conscious consumers”.
Initially, 10 soups will launch in recyclable aluminium cans later this month (rsp: £2/50/310ml).
The range comprises Gazpacho, Mixed Vegetable, Yogurt & Mint, Tomato, Broccoli, Chicken, Chili Bean, Lentil, Mushroom and Spinach. They have a chilled shelf life of between four to eight months depending on the recipe.
The soups were low in calories, free from preservatives and artificial colours and could be consumed “straight from the pack cold with no bowl, microwave or cutlery required”, said Dozz.
“Today’s consumers are time-constrained but more health-conscious than ever,” said Dozz general manager Ender Bolat. “We created Dozz to be an on-the-go solution, something fast, nutritious and enjoyable.
“Whether you’re commuting, in back-to-back meetings or simply don’t have time to cook, Dozz offers real food that’s ready when you are, with no heating and no hassle.”
Dozz will debut its soups at this year’s Lunch Show in London on 24-25 September.
A retail launch for the brand is yet to be confirmed, although Dozz said it was “in conversation with three major retailers about listing the products” in the coming months.
Dozz initially debuted in Romania earlier this year, where it is sold in retailers including Kaufland, OMV, Sezamo, and Freshful.
The brand is also preparing to launch in Germany and “other western European countries” in the near future.
