The rollout of the data loggers across EG On The Move’s estate will continue throughout 2026

EG On The Move has partnered with Water Plus to monitor water use across its estate and cut business costs.

The partnership involves the introduction of advanced water monitors across EG On The Move’s estate, with more than 90 data loggers installed on water meters so far.

The technology provides regular usage updates through an online portal, giving greater visibility of a site’s water consumption, the companies said.

EG On The Move said water was essential to running its 270-strong estate and supporting customer facilities such as washrooms, foodservice outlets, vehicle washing and site maintenance.

By working with the business water retailer Water Plus, it would allow the forecourt operator to manage water efficiently, help reduce business costs, improve site operations and support its sustainability goals, it said.

The rollout of the data loggers across EG On The Move’s estate will continue throughout 2026.

EG On The Move said it had already identified opportunities to reduce water consumption, with one site saving an estimated 52 litres of water per day. This equates to a daily saving of more than 100 cups of coffee or enough water for around 25 hand washes.

“Water Plus has provided exceptional service and support throughout our partnership,” said EG On The Move utilities account manager Ahmed Khora.

“Their professionalism, responsiveness and commitment to delivering a high-quality service across our extensive estate are making a practical but meaningful difference to our business.

“The data and insights the Water Plus team have provided also means we can act quickly, and work closely with our maintenance partner Adam Patel from D&G Utilities, as part of our efficiency upgrades across sites.

“As EG On The Move continues to grow, it is important to have a trusted partner like Water Plus to help improve operational performance while supporting our sustainability ambitions.

“EG On The Move is committed to reducing our environmental impact by continuing to lower carbon emissions, minimising waste and improving resource efficiency. Water Plus is helping us make meaningful progress by identifying opportunities to reduce water consumption and improve performance across our network.”

Water Plus key account manager Emma Goodwin said: “We are proud to support EG On The Move as it continues to grow its UK footprint. EG On The Move is focused on sustainability and actively embraces the benefits of advanced water management and data-led decision-making.

“Together, we have improved visibility of water use across their retail estate and identified opportunities to increase usage efficiency. We look forward to continuing to support them.”
